Lyme Disease

Stem Cell Treatment Program Lyme Disease Protocol

Dr. Ghaly’s Lyme disease treatment is customized to each individual patient’s needs based on a variety of unique factors -- including the duration and severity of symptoms, the presence of tick-borne coinfections, overall health, and patient response to treatment. Dr. Ghaly will develop a preliminary treatment plan after discussing your medical history, assessing your current symptoms, and reviewing your lab and/or imaging results. Once you arrive at the Ghaly Center to begin treatment, Dr. Ghaly will utilize a combination of the most advanced procedures available to help you reach your treatment goals. Following is a description of some of the treatment modalities that may be included in your treatment program.

Intravenous (IV) Therapy is administered to enhance the immune system, aid assimilation, promote detoxification, and support endocrine repair. Each formulation contains a synergistic blend of medical grade organic ingredients that are customized to address your own unique condition (including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, neurotransmitters, co- enzymes (NAD), and antioxidants. What happens during IV therapy? A bag containing your unique formulation is connected to a thin tube that is inserted into one of your veins. The rate and quantity of fluid administered depends on a variety of factors – including medical condition, body size, vein condition, age, and personal tolerance. IV therapy may be administered daily, every other day, or on a more customized schedule according to your personal tolerance, your symptoms of detox and other factors which Dr. Ghaly will consistently assess. You may choose to listen to music, read, watch TV, or sleep during IV therapy which takes approximately 4-6 hours. Please remember: fluids given intravenously bypass your digestive system completely. This may prompt your body to breakdown and eliminate toxins at an accelerated rate. Therefore, please keep in mind that with additional toxins moving throughout your body, you may experience cold or flu-like symptoms at some point during your treatment. Be patient as these unpleasant will pass. Focus on all of the benefits your treatment will provide and all of the happy and healthy years you’ll have to enjoy them!

Enhanced External Counterpulation Therapy (EECP) has been clinically proven to significantly increase Hematopoietic Progenitor Cells (HPCs). Hematopoietic Progenitor cells are multipotent stem cells that produce all blood cell types – such as neutrophils, macrophages, erythrocytes, platelets and lymphoid cells (including T-cells, B-cells and natural killer EECP therapy improves the efficacy of your stem cell treatment by increasing blood flow, reducing inflammation, promoting detoxification, and improving lymphatic circulation.

What happens during EECP therapy? During EECP therapy, you lie on a comfortable bed. A series of blood pressure cuffs are wrapped around your calf, thigh, hips and buttocks. You are monitored by a computerized EKG, which triggers the cuffs to inflate and deflate in sync with your heartbeat. During the resting phase of your heart, the cuffs inflate to pump oxygen rich blood to the heart and the rest of the body. Patient’s usually listen to music, read, relax, or even fall asleepduring treatment. Each EECP treatment session lasts one hour.

Ozone Therapy, also known as Autohemotherapy, is a medical treatment that has been utilized since the early 1950s. Ozone Therapy inserts more oxygen into the patient’s body through a form of pure oxygen known as ozone. This prompts an immune response within the body. What happens during Ozone Therapy? Dr. Ghaly draws blood from the patient and then pressurizes it with ozone. The pressurized blood is inserted back into the patient through an intravenous injection. This is known as a “pass” and the process is repeated up to 10 times (10-Pass Ozone Therapy). Ozone Therapy may be administered daily, every other day, or on a more customized schedule according to your personal tolerance, your symptoms of detox and other factors which Dr. Ghaly will monitor and assess. Ozone Therapy takes approximately 2-3 hours, during which time you may relax, watch TV, or sleep our reclining treatment chair.

Exosome Injections contain human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived mesenchymal cells. Exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells can play a critical role in repairing injured tissues and boosting the body’s natural immuneresponses. This cutting-edge treatment is an effective supplement to Dr. Ghaly’s stem cell therapies.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is derived from the patient’s own blood. It contains concentrated platelets that release growth factors to promote natural tissue healing and regeneration. Combining your own PRP with stem cells creates a synergistic blend that enhances cell viability and efficacy. What happens during PRP Therapy? A small amount of blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge to separate the PRP and activate the growth factors. Dr. Ghaly may carefully inject PRP into specific target areas, or he may use it to augment your stem cell therapy.

Brain Performance Testing utilizes a state-of-the-art system that allows for an objective and expansive functional measurement of brain and cognition. This comprehensive assessment provides quantitative information for informed medical, nutritional, and behavioral interventions to optimize patient outcomes. This test is designed to identify and assess dynamic changes that take place throughout the brain during cognitive processing tasks. What happens during Brain Performance Testing? Small metal discs (electrodes) are attached to your scalp to detect electrical activity in your brain while you respond to various visual stimuli. This cutting-edge diagnostic tool measures real-time cognitive processing parameters essential for healthy brain function, including: decision making, organization, attention, memory, impulsivity, motor processing speed, and reaction time. You can expect this test to take approximately 35 minutes.

Nutritional Evaluation/Micronutrient Testing combines standard and innovative biomarkers which are designed to provide a complete nutritional assessment. This testing addresses the fact that Lyme patients are often plagued with malabsorption issues. Vitamin, mineral and antioxidant deficiencies have been shown to suppress immune function and contribute to chronic degenerative processes. Dr. Ghaly’s program addresses normalizing brain chemistry with whole food nutrition and nutraceutical supplementation to replete the malnutrition which often accompanies Lyme disease.

Comprehensive Laboratory Testing may include advanced Lyme/co-infection testing, inflammatory marker testing, fatty acid testing, and hormone tests to determine your overall health level, as well as underlying health conditions. Metabolic typing, blood typing, and genomic testing are valuable ways to customize a treatment program to each person's unique biochemistry and genetics. With standard medical testing, most physicians do not recognize age or illness related declines in critical hormone levels. They feel that as long as test results show levels in the normal“reference range” nothing further needs to be done. However, Dr. Ghaly believes optimal levels of hormones and other chemical markers in the body are key to the concept of restoring or maintaining health and wellness. In addition, Dr. Ghaly will want to review any testing you may have completed in the previous 12 months. If possible, please forward results to our office prior to your arrival to allow time for receipt and evaluation by Dr. Ghaly. (For example: LabCorp, Quest, Armin Labs, DNA Connections and IGeneX, as well as MRI, CT Scan and X-ray images/reports).

Neurotransmitter Testing can identify and correct neurotransmitter imbalances that may exasperate symptoms of Lyme disease. Dr. Ghaly will utilize the test results in formulating a treatment plan based on your specific symptoms.

Stem Cell Therapies

Adipose Derived Stem Cell Therapy/Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) utilizes Dr. Ghaly’s own minimally invasive sterile harvesting technology to effectively isolate stem cells collected from the patient’s own adipose (fat) tissue. These stemcells are then administered via intravenous infusion (or directly into joints or organs) and can differentiate into healthy bone, cartilage, muscle, fat, collagen, neural tissue, blood vessels, and even some organs. What happens during ADSC Therapy/SVF? The first step is a minimally-invasive liposuction type of harvesting procedure which generally lasts 20 minutes and can be performed under local anesthesia. You may opt to take a Valium to help you relax (or similar medication), which Dr. Ghaly will make available to you. After harvesting the fat, the next step is to isolate the cells. This is accomplished by separating the fat cells and stem cells. Stromal Vascular Fraction -- which contains mesenchymal stem cells and growth factors -- is then processed from the harvested fat. During processing, Dr. Ghaly utilizes a closed sterile system to avoid contact with the environment. Processing time is approximately 90 minutes. Finally, your stem cells are administered back over approximately 2-3 hours via IV infusion and, if recommended, targeted injection.

Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cell Therapy is used to treat a wide range of blood and immune system conditions such as leukemia, anemia and autoimmune diseases. Umbilical cord blood is rich in hematopoietic stem cells and mesenchymal stromal cells, cytokines, proteins and growth factors. Dr. Ghaly’s umbilical cord blood products are processed in GMP compliant facilities that are US-based and FDA registered. What happens during Umbilical Cord Stem Cell Therapy? Dr. Ghaly will tailor your stem cell deployment in accordance with your individual needs – including your current symptoms and tolerance to detoxification. He will thoroughly explain your customized procedure plan and answer any questions you may have before starting the procedure.

A deposit of $5,000 is required to secure your appointment time. The Ghaly Center accepts cash, checks and most major credit cards. The balance is due 7 days prior to the first day of treatment, unless other payment arrangements are agreed upon in advance. (The Ghaly Center incurs substantial product costs related to your treatment which are non- refundable. For example, processing enzymes and umbilical stem cells are specifically ordered on a case-by-case basis. Shipping is costly due to the special handling and lead time required. Also, live cells do not have a “shelf life”. As such, we respectfully request that you give us a 5-day notice should you wish to cancel or change your procedure day/time). Please note: Insurance companies do not currently reimburse stem cell treatments. However, we are happy to provide you with any documentation you may require in order to submit a request for assistance through outside non-profits or philanthropic organizations. In addition, we are available to assist you with crowdfunding and social media campaigns.
